You could say I have a design addiction. That’s how I know I’m in the perfect industry. Design is everywhere. Inspiration comes at a moments notice and luckily I get to utilize those ideas in projects for clients such as yourself.

With a strong background designing with in-house teams including a fast-paced local Philadelphia city newspaper as well as an entertainment company also located in the Philadelphia area, I have collected a vast knowledge of the ins-and-outs of the design industry. Working one-on-one with clients and their printers to produce the perfect image to illustrate their message is my specialty.

After supplementing my full-time career with multiple freelance opportunities, I seized the moment to open my own business. With over 10 years experience in the design industry, I officially opened my doors for business March 10, 2008.

Dr. Sketchy’s Philadelphia

Nicola Black Design, L.L.C. was a proud presenter of the Philadelphia branch of Dr. Sketchy’s from October 2007 – December 2009. During my time directing the event, I built a strong audience of artists and put on a sold out event almost every time (90-100 artists)! I utilized many marketing strategies over those 2 years to ensure the Philadelphia branch was one of the top branches in the world. Dr. Sketchy’s originated when Molly Crabapple and friends began an art revolution they named Dr. Sketchy’s. Since it’s inception, Dr. Sketchy’s has become a worldwide phenomenon with over 100 branches globally. I am so proud Nicola Black Design, L.L.C. had a hand in one of the best art events in Philadelphia – mixing cabaret, burlesque, drinking, drawing, games and a whole lot of debauchery. I am a big supporter of this event and urge you to visit Dr. Sketchy’s in your city at your earliest convenience. You’ll be very happy you did!
