Friday Tidbit

Friday Tidbit

It’s Friday! I’m really looking forward to this weekend. I have a lot in store. Saturday promises to be a good time with the monthly Dr. Sketchy’s Philly event I put on. I have Ginger Leigh and Lulu Lollipop of The Peek-A-Boo Revue taking the stage for Philly Art-Monkeys to draw! If you haven’t heard about Dr. Sketchy’s, have a look at our site here. We are one of over 100 branches worldwide! So much fun!

Sunday will be set aside for a bit of relaxation which I’m REALLY looking forward to. Maybe I’ll play some video games or something. I haven’t brought out the Wii Balance Board in some time… hmm…

I wanted to share a few items that piqued my interest over the past week or so to kick off the weekend. Random bits of information — some fun, some work related, but all good. So here goes!

• Collaborations, for the most part, produce great results. Here’s one that I’ve got my eye on. Threadless and Griffin have teamed up putting together some beautiful iPhone cases. Have a look!

• I love clever design. I’m sure you do as well. Albert Exergian redesigned/reimagined these TV show posters. The project was self initiated. This inspires me to no end. To see more of Albert Exergian’s work, please visit www.exergian.com.

• I have to pop this in here – it’s so good (*Note: May be NSFW depending on your situation). My friend and Dr. Sketchy’s creator, Molly Crabapple, organized this incredible scene at Ron English’s “Immortal Underground” opening at Opera Gallery. Make-up: Danielle Fonesca, Models: Katelan Foisy, Gal Friday, Angela Bruno and Kiki Valentine.

• Apparently, this video has been floating around for some time. Yesterday was my first time seeing it. Still, I have to share. It illustrates vendor/client relationships – in real world situations. A great representation of what many creatives come across in their careers at one point or another. Funny, sad, and true at the same time.

That’s it for now! Enjoy your weekend!
